Flowmaster Performance Mufflers

Flowmaster has been the leader in performance exhaust technology since 1983. Known for their distinctive chambered muffler design and race-proven Delta Flow technology, Flowmaster mufflers deliver the aggressive exhaust tone and increased horsepower that enthusiasts demand. Every Flowmaster muffler is built from durable 16-gauge aluminized steel with fully welded construction no internal packing to blow out.

40 Series Delta Flow

The 40 Series Delta Flow is Flowmaster's most popular line, delivering an aggressive exterior sound with a moderate interior tone. Using patented Delta Flow technology, these chambered mufflers improve exhaust flow while producing the deep, throaty rumble that Flowmaster is famous for. Available in 2.00" to 3.00" inlet/outlet configurations with center and offset options to fit virtually any application. Ideal for street, strip, and off-road use.

Super 40 Series

The Super 40 takes the original 40 Series design and adds an extra internal chamber for even deeper, more aggressive sound. If you want maximum rumble at idle and a powerful roar under acceleration, the Super 40 delivers. Built with the same fully welded aluminized steel construction and available in multiple inlet/outlet sizes from 2.25" to 3.00".

Super 44 Series

Flowmaster's Super 44 is their most aggressive street-legal muffler. Featuring a two-chamber design with Delta Flow technology, the Super 44 produces a deep, powerful tone that's noticeably louder than the Super 40. Perfect for muscle cars, trucks, and performance builds where maximum sound is the goal.

50 Series Delta Flow

The 50 Series Delta Flow offers a moderate, refined tone for drivers who want improved performance without extreme volume. These mufflers use a larger case design with Delta Flow internals to deliver a smooth, deep sound that's comfortable for daily driving while still providing the performance gains of reduced backpressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Flowmaster 40, Super 40, and Super 44 mufflers?

The 40 Series Delta Flow produces an aggressive exterior sound with moderate interior tone. The Super 40 adds an extra chamber for deeper, more aggressive sound. The Super 44 is Flowmaster's most aggressive street muffler with maximum volume and the deepest tone. Sound level increases from 40 to Super 40 to Super 44.

Will a Flowmaster muffler void my warranty?

Installing an aftermarket muffler like Flowmaster should not void your vehicle's warranty under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The dealer would need to prove the muffler directly caused a specific failure. However, muffler installation does not affect engine or drivetrain warranty coverage.

How much horsepower does a Flowmaster muffler add?

Flowmaster mufflers typically add 2-10 horsepower by reducing exhaust backpressure. The exact gain depends on your engine, existing exhaust setup, and muffler model. Larger displacement engines like V8s generally see more noticeable gains. Most owners notice improved throttle response immediately.

What size Flowmaster muffler do I need?

Match the muffler inlet/outlet diameter to your existing exhaust pipe diameter. Most passenger cars use 2.00" to 2.50" pipes, trucks typically use 2.50" to 3.00", and high-performance builds may use 3.00" or larger. Check your current exhaust pipe before ordering, and choose center or offset inlet/outlet based on your routing needs.

Are Flowmaster mufflers legal for street use?

Flowmaster chambered mufflers are legal for street use in most states. However, noise regulations vary by state and municipality. The 40 Delta Flow and 50 Delta Flow are generally the safest choices for street legality. Check your local and state noise ordinances before installing a Super 44 or other aggressive option.

How long do Flowmaster mufflers last?

Flowmaster mufflers are built from 16-gauge aluminized steel with fully welded construction, which resists corrosion and typically lasts 5-8 years or more depending on climate and driving conditions. Unlike fiberglass-packed mufflers, Flowmaster's chambered design has no internal packing to blow out or degrade over time.

What does a Flowmaster muffler sound like?

Flowmaster mufflers produce a deep, aggressive exhaust tone that varies by series. The 50 Delta Flow is the mildest with a refined rumble. The 40 Delta Flow delivers the classic aggressive Flowmaster sound. The Super 40 is deeper and louder, while the Super 44 is the loudest with a raw, powerful roar. Sound is deeper at idle and louder under acceleration.

Can I install a Flowmaster muffler myself?

Yes, a Flowmaster muffler can be a DIY installation if you have basic tools, jack stands, and some mechanical experience. Most installations take 1-2 hours. You'll need to cut out the old muffler and either weld or clamp the new one in place. If you're not comfortable working under your vehicle, a muffler shop can install it in under an hour.
