Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the right part for my vehicle?

Use our vehicle selector tool on the homepage or product pages to filter parts by year, make, model, and engine. You can also search by part number if you know the specific OEM or aftermarket number you need. If you're unsure, contact our team with your vehicle information and we'll help you find the correct part.

What's the difference between cat-back and axle-back exhaust systems?

A cat-back system replaces everything from the catalytic converter back to the tailpipe, including mid-pipes, mufflers, and tips. An axle-back system replaces only the components behind the rear axle—typically just the muffler and tailpipe. Cat-back systems offer more performance gains, while axle-back systems are easier to install and more affordable.

Will this muffler be loud?

Sound level varies by brand and muffler design. AP Exhaust and DuraFit mufflers are designed for OEM-style quiet operation. Cherry Bomb and Xlerator performance mufflers produce a deeper, more aggressive exhaust note. Check product descriptions for sound ratings (mild, moderate, aggressive) or contact us for specific recommendations.

Do I need a professional to install these parts?

Many DIYers successfully install exhaust parts with basic hand tools, a jack, and jack stands. However, some installations require cutting, welding, or specialized equipment. We recommend professional installation if you're not comfortable working under your vehicle or if the job requires welding. Professional installation also ensures warranty coverage.

What's the difference between direct-fit and universal parts?

Direct-fit parts are designed for specific vehicles and bolt directly into place with minimal modification. Universal parts are adjustable and can fit multiple applications, but typically require cutting and welding for proper installation. Direct-fit parts are easier to install; universal parts offer more flexibility and customization.

Are your catalytic converters CARB compliant?

We carry both EPA-compliant (50-state legal) and CARB-compliant catalytic converters. Product listings clearly indicate compliance status. If you live in California or a CARB-adopting state (NY, ME, VT, MA, CT, RI, NJ, PA, MD, DE, OR, WA, CO), you must use CARB-compliant converters. Always verify compliance before purchasing.

What if my part doesn't fit?

If you receive a part that doesn't fit your vehicle, contact us immediately at support@hhmuffler.com. If we shipped the wrong part or provided incorrect fitment information, we'll send you the correct part at no charge. If you ordered the wrong part, we accept returns within 30 days for unused, uninstalled items in original packaging (return shipping at customer expense).

Do you ship internationally?

At this time, we ship only within the United States. We're working to expand our shipping options—check back for updates or contact us if you have special shipping needs.

How do I choose between AP Exhaust, Xlerator, and Cherry Bomb?

AP Exhaust offers OEM-quality direct-fit replacements for quiet, stock-like performance. Xlerator provides performance exhaust with moderate sound levels and power gains. Cherry Bomb delivers aggressive sound and maximum performance for enthusiasts who want their vehicle to be heard. Choose based on your sound preference and performance goals.

What's the warranty on these parts?

Warranty coverage varies by brand and product type. Most mufflers carry 1-3 year warranties, while catalytic converters typically have 2-5 year or 25,000-50,000 mile warranties. All warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. See our Warranty & Emissions page for complete details.

Can I order parts over the phone?

We're an online-only retailer to keep costs low and pass savings on to you. All orders are placed through our website. However, our support team is available via email at support@hhmuffler.com to answer questions, verify fitment, and help you find the right parts before you order.

Do you have a physical store location?

No, HH Muffler operates exclusively online. We don't have a retail showroom or pickup location. This allows us to offer competitive pricing and serve customers nationwide without the overhead of a physical storefront.
