Warranty & Emissions

Warranty & Emissions Compliance

Product Warranties

All exhaust and emissions products sold by HH Muffler are covered by manufacturer warranties. Warranty terms vary by brand and product type, but most parts carry coverage ranging from 1 to 3 years against defects in materials and workmanship.

Typical warranty coverage includes:

  • Mufflers & Resonators: 1-3 years depending on brand
  • Catalytic Converters: 2-5 years or 25,000-50,000 miles
  • Exhaust Systems (cat-back, axle-back): 1-3 years
  • Exhaust Pipes & Components: 1-2 years

Warranty coverage typically requires proper installation, normal operating conditions, and proof of purchase. Warranties do not cover damage from improper installation, accidents, abuse, modifications, or normal wear and tear.

How to File a Warranty Claim

If you experience a product defect during the warranty period, contact us at support@hhmuffler.com with the following information:

  • Order number and date of purchase
  • Description of the defect or failure
  • Photos of the failed part (including date codes/part numbers)
  • Vehicle information (year, make, model, engine)
  • Installation date and installer (if applicable)

Our team will review your claim and coordinate with the manufacturer. If approved, we'll arrange for a replacement part to be shipped to you. In most cases, the defective part must be returned for inspection.

Emissions Compliance

Important: It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all parts comply with local, state, and federal emissions regulations. HH Muffler offers both EPA-compliant (50-state legal) and CARB-compliant (California-approved) catalytic converters and emissions components.

If you live in California or a CARB-adopting state (NY, ME, VT, MA, CT, RI, NJ, PA, MD, DE, OR, WA, CO), you must use CARB-compliant catalytic converters. Product listings clearly indicate CARB compliance status—always verify before purchasing.

Installing non-compliant emissions parts may result in failed inspections, fines, or legal penalties. When in doubt, consult your local regulations or a professional installer.

Professional Installation Recommended

While many of our customers successfully install exhaust parts themselves, we recommend professional installation for best results. Proper installation ensures optimal performance, prevents leaks, and maintains warranty coverage. Improper installation may void manufacturer warranties.
