Making a Warranty Claim

Step 1: Contact HH Muffler

Before returning any product, contact us first:

  • Email: warranty@hhmuffler.com
  • Phone: 1-800-XXX-XXXX

Provide:

  • Order number or proof of purchase
  • Product brand and part number
  • Description of the problem
  • Photos showing the defect
  • Mileage and installation date

Step 2: Evaluation

Our warranty team will:

  • Review your claim and photos
  • Determine if issue is covered under warranty
  • Contact manufacturer if needed
  • Provide claim decision within 2-3 business days

Step 3: Return Authorization

If claim is approved:

  • We'll issue an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number
  • Provide return shipping instructions
  • Send prepaid shipping label (for warranty claims)

Step 4: Inspection & Resolution

Once we receive the defective item:

  • Manufacturer inspects for warranty coverage
  • If approved: Replacement shipped immediately
  • If denied: We'll contact you with explanation and options
  • Typical turnaround: 5-10 business days

Warranty vs. Return Policy

Use Warranty Claim When:

  • Product has been installed and used
  • Defect appeared after installation
  • Outside 30-day return window
  • Product failed under normal use

Use Return Policy When:

  • Product is unused and unopened
  • Within 30 days of delivery
  • Wrong part ordered
  • Changed your mind

Installation & Labor Coverage

Important: Manufacturer warranties cover the product only, not installation labor.

What This Means:

  • If a warranty claim is approved, you'll receive a replacement part free
  • Labor to remove failed part and install replacement is not covered
  • This is standard across all exhaust manufacturers

Our Recommendation:

Consider purchasing installation from a professional shop. Many shops offer labor warranties on their work separate from parts warranty.

Transferability

Non-Transferable Warranties:

  • Most manufacturer warranties are to original purchaser only
  • Selling vehicle typically voids warranty
  • Exception: Some Borla warranties transfer with proof

Required Documentation:

Always keep:

  • Original purchase receipt
  • Installation date and mileage documentation
  • Product packaging and documentation

Warranty Service Options

Replacement Product:

  • Most common resolution
  • Identical or equivalent product shipped
  • No charge for replacement or shipping

Refund:

  • Available if replacement not wanted
  • Refund amount based on original purchase price
  • May be prorated for older products

Repair:

  • Rarely offered for exhaust products
  • Welding repairs generally not recommended
  • Replacement preferred for safety and performance

Aftermarket vs. OEM Warranties

Aftermarket Performance Warranties:

  • Often better than OEM (many lifetime warranties)
  • Direct manufacturer backing
  • Faster replacement process

OEM Replacement Warranties:

  • Typically 1-2 years
  • Must go through dealership
  • Higher cost, shorter warranty

Maintaining Your Warranty

Do's:

  • ✓ Follow manufacturer installation instructions
  • ✓ Use proper hardware and hangers
  • ✓ Maintain proper engine operation
  • ✓ Keep receipts and documentation
  • ✓ Inspect exhaust system regularly

Don'ts:

  • ✗ Modify or alter the product
  • ✗ Use in racing/competition (unless specified)
  • ✗ Ignore check engine lights
  • ✗ Continue driving with exhaust damage
  • ✗ Remove or tamper with emissions components

Extended Warranties

Most major exhaust brands already offer lifetime or long-term warranties. Extended warranties are typically unnecessary for quality exhaust products.
